I think Caps either keep their pick or trade for top 6 help now, but if they were to trade back it would probably be for BUF 2023 1st and 2024 2nd since they don't have a 2nd next year.

Blues won't trade down baring a big big overpay. We already have 2 late firsts. Plus it's our first top 10 pick since 2010 so it's a big chance for us to pick up a grade A prospect. I could see us trading the pick for a 24 and younger top 4 D men who is on the upward trend or maybe a young Center who has 1C potential but that's about it.

The Blues are not a good match. You won't be taking either of their LDs and there's not a whole lot they'd want off your roster that could be had. Best go elsewhere.

Or even late 20’s for an about identical return as SJ-ARI last year.

probably would take both the BUF and PHI 2nds to move up to 8oa. This is not the draft to move up in lol

Explain? SJ-ARI would be a close comparable. And in this case BUF doesn’t have a late first like ARI did, as to why we would get BUF’s ‘24 first which would obviously be lottery protected and would likely be in the range of 17-25. Pretty fair to me…

You didn't say lottery protected and I'd prefer to have 3 top 45 picks to 1 pick

Well I mean I can’t see a case where it wouldn’t be lottery protected…

And also sure I get that but in terms of value there’s nothing wrong with the value here so I don’t get what the issue is? There’s a difference between not wanting to trade for that 14th OA and keep your assets and then there’s the value being the problem which it’s not in this case.

Also worth noting that “1 pick” is a top 15 pick in a very deep draft

We already have a top 15 pick and are giving up a 1st and 2 2nds for a 1st. Im sure there is a point system that shows value somewhere

I feel like BUF should move DOWN in the draft not up. They have so much cap space next year and top 5 prospect pool currently. Moving down could potentially bring in better players who are sooner ready to contribute.

For Vancouver, the value of moving down isn’t greater than the return that we would get, because moving back 2 spots might just be a 3rd rounder, but I would rather Reinbacher and no 3rd rounder than a winger and a 3rd rounder, its just how the draft is shaping up to be
