Caufield will never be dealt. Kid is way too good and a playoff performer. Just starting to be a premier goal scorer in the nhl. He’s their most marketable player, already in billboards, commercials. It’s akin to trading for Matthews a few years back. The backlash would be insane. Won’t happen

Lafreniere May get the Florida 1st plus a b prospect. Panarin has a terrible contract

Way too much cap going to Montreal for so little. Even worse thinking Panarin is waiving to Montreal.

Rangers fans.. “Lafreniere is a bust. Panarin is lazy and can’t perform in tight checking hockey.”

Trades both for two 1sts and a top5 goal scorer in the league that has shown more grit and timely scoring in 1 playoff year than both these guys in 2 years.

if he wants to share ideas, I don't have a problem with it ( no matter how ridiculous) ... if he wants to act like he knows it all when someone else posts , well, I felt it needed his response back, with spelling mistakes included

Most are like that here. There’s one poster that constantly posts Bedard to Canucks ACGMs with offer sheets for Bryam yet goes around using profanity while saying the Canucks don’t have cap troubles and won’t do any deals other than his own. Welcome to capfriendly.

Ranger fans are broken....they are desperate for someone to eat their bad contracts for them. Although MTL did it with Gomez ages ago, and set the Rangers up for a long run thanks to McD being in that deal (while moving all that money)....teams may actually be smarter and no one does NYR a favor anymore. We shall see.

The best shot at a "favor" is if Goodrow was willing to leave, but NYR isn't being paid to have someone taking him...

Lafreniere to Montreal makes some sense to me. The rest seems out of place.

One place I could see Panarin moving would be to the Islanders (he considered signing there). There is probably a far-fetched three-way idea there somewhere.

The guy has trade Panarin in his tag line but yeah sure every team is just dying for a player, they don’t want!

Now you're just acting in bad faith. 26 goals in 46 games at 22 years old on one of the worst offense in the league and with a fcked up shoulder.

He was 5 point shy of having more points than Kappo bustko and labustiere... in 34 less games.

Goodrows buyout would give the rangers extra salary so why would we pay to move him???

Panarin's $12M for 2 assists in the playoffs, and border-line 1st OA bust for a kid who has 53 goals in 123 games (of which 20-odd games Ducharme buried him) and 2 first round picks.

Pretty sure Montreal just sticks their course of action

Ignoring the fact that Panarin isn't waiving to go to Montreal, it makes literally no sense for Montreal. They're mid-rebuild, Panarin doesn't have real value to them. Lafreniere does, but not even close to that much. Its also way too much salary going to Montreal. Why on earth would you think this is fair?

Did you actually read the article? Because based on your comments and the contract you gave him, it doesn't look like you did.

And most Habs fans aren't dead set on getting him. Most aren't even dead set on getting Dubois, who is a better player. Most Habs fans think Lafreniere is Drouin 2.0. If its a gamble, then sure. But we're talking an early 2nd+ plus a prospect, not ****ing Caufield and 2 1sts.

Cole basically said, "F off, I'm dealing this off camera" to the hockey reporters. He doesn't want to say anything publicly which is probably the play if you are a hockey player.

Montreal sticking to their course of action is the key point.
You're going to have to give huge value in Montreal's favor to make it worth changing course.

If we're being fair, Panarin is still an elite player, awful playoffs or not. But he's a 31 year old with a massive contract, no team mid-rebuild (like Montreal) is going to be interested in giving up young talent and 1sts for him because he'll be UFA and/or too old by the time the team is ready to compete. If Panarin is traded (likely to a team like the Islanders) its likely going to be a hockey trade with veteran NHLer(s) coming back.
