Please, stop trading for Alexandre Texier. It shows you have no understanding of the situation.

The Rangers wouldn't give up Braden Schneider for your 2023 first-round draft pick.

Obviously would love that NYR Schneider trade, but in no world does NYR consider that.

I mean that pick is likely an Elite Forward prospect, but then again we all know NY would just destroy their development like they have with every other top prospect.

Now that’s the dumbest thing I’ve heard today lol wouldn’t trade a third pair D for a top 4 pick in this draft?

You mean like Leon Draisaitl is a second-line center?

Fair there! Yes Schneider is a legit top 4 RD with a high ceiling. But with Trouba and Fox he’s blocked to 3RD.
He should be untouchable… but how is he getting resigned? You’re maxed out and he needs a new deal next year and will be at least 4 mil a season.
This being said there would be much better offers for him likely.

I was wrong with my earlier comment because for some reason I recalled that San Jose's pick is in the 7 - 10 range, and Sharks authority @glarson17 was absolutely right to point out that it's the fourth overall (give or take). Of course NY would take that pick for him. But my main point remains: the package in this ACGM is wholly inadequate for him.

No I feel you but that pick is more valuable than Schneider imo. But I see your argument and you’re not wrong.

Mukhamadullin playing right side or left side? Was exclusively RD in KHL, and played there in his limited stint for our AHL team.

His point is valid though, Draisaitl is an elite top line C who plays lower because of who is ahead of him same for RNH as a 100p 3C but yea this is still a stretch cause Schneider is a top 4 on maybe 1/2 to 3/4 of the league and needs another year or two till he is a legit top 4

Interesting I didn't know that. Do you know if it was more of a comfort thing for him to play RD or by default since they had too many LD guys and someone had to do it?

Comfort thing. I also think KHL is more open to playing guys on off-hand.

Also, if you watch clips of him, especially when he shoots or when he activates from blue line…the way he skates, with kind of wide but lanky base, it just kind of works. It seems unorthodox, which is why his detractors say it’s messy and his supporters say it’s genius. Will be interesting if it all translates in NHL.
