Why ?

Because they value him very highly. They refused to include him or Krebs in the Eichel trade initially

I heard that to, but he's being blocked there a bit. That's why I thought about this. Olofsson and Eichel were really good together before Eichel hurt his neck.

Just going of some stuff I saw about the Avs looking for a 2C and might be willing to use Girard. And maybe this needs a tweaking, but Mitts isn't a throw in especially after last season and would flourish with you guys.

Blocked? He's 22, most defense don't make the NHL until 23

Yes but he plays a lot of RD for Vegas. And most of your LD are signed for a couple years to.

As a fan and someone invested in both teams, no he would not be a fit. He would be a frustration. His consistency, pace, engagement and defensive reliability would have him in Bednars dog house and as a cup team, he wouldn't keep getting shifts after taking some off. Bednar only likes try hards. Girard's usage and contract have him as a more valuable piece to the Avs. I think he would be Power's perfect partner and plays rd just as well as ld.

Really guess you didn't see much of Mitts from January on. But that's cool, just throwing things out there.

I think you both have a point. Mitts was a different player for part of the season (emphasis on part). He's too risky for Colorado to acquire and run with as 2C. He might be good, and he might not. Which to me means that sure the Avs might have interest, but probably not for Girard. His low cap hit would mean Colorado tries to keep them both and offer futures instead.

If the Sabres would take futures instead of Girard, then the Avs might look at you and say "Hey Bud, let's party!"

"Mr hand, you dink!"- just because I had to watch the edited for TV version. Almost as bad as "yippee ki-Yay Mr falcon".

I'm not a mittelstadt fan, I'd at least ask what the futures are, but the reality is, mittelstadt isn't getting moved for futures, maybe for that help on d that we need. He's been too inconsistent to even mention a first or a choice prospect, so he's gonna be here for awhile yet. I hope he crushes it this year, enough that his value would get us legit help on d, but not so well that our gm decides he has to keep him and give him a 7 year contract or something.

I'm fine with that, as I'm not a big Mittelstadt fan either. All I'm saying is that if it were a good deal, Avs might be in. His low cap hit is the main appeal. But if the cost is Girard, I can't see that happening unless Buffalo sweetens the deal by a fair amount.

I appreciate you posting ACGM's. I appologize if I come off as mean. Problem is I've watched him since Jr hockey and January on was the first I've seen him play like that in the pros. However he still takes shifts off and coasts. Which would only take one time for Bednar to demote him to the 4th line n play 4min a night. We've seen too many young players get that treatment. Right or wrong.

Your not Bud, appreciate the Convo. I agree with your opinion. Ask any Sabres fan that knows me here and I have been pretty nasty to Mitts over his career. But it seemed the light bulb finally went on and with the experience and good Wingers you have think Mitts could hit another level.

I'm hoping he plays lights out this fall and he gets moved in a package for Helle.

Mitts for the Goalie Helle. ? Would really surprise me if Buffalo went after a High end Goalie like that. Waited to long to sign Levi for me to think that.
