McMichael and the 40th pick is worth more than that.

Hawks decline. Dickinson is worth a 3rd on his own. I'm not even sure if Hawks accept if you take Dickinson out of the deal.

Can't get more for Kuz, at least a 1st.

Pass on Scheifele, he's not that good at all, very overrated. Get Ehlers instead.

So you value a first and a second to be less than 2 seconds and a third? What?

This is the absolute bare minimum cost for kuznetsov. 2 years of a number 1 center for 7.8M is worth at least a first round pick, but we’re taking two early seconds and a third.

I assume you mean *can get more for Kuz. I agree, but two early seconds and a third is also decent.

I’m unsure on Ehlers at the moment. Pretty down and injured year, don’t know if he’s more than a 20 goal guy whereas Schefiele can pot 30+ and plays center. And scheifele very likely wants out of Winnipeg, so I think they’re much more likely to move him than Ehlers if not both.

I'm with you. Not touching Mantha (he is owed 6.5 and carries a 5.7 cap hit and is almost a full dump at this point) for any less than a 2nd....hell it can be the worst '25 2nd of the 3 the Caps hold. And I'm not throwing Dickinson in as a cherry on top to make a bad deal worse. Dickinson was a decent player and as a pending UFA will be very dealable at the deadline is he is similar this season.

lol I guarantee someone will want Mantha and will end up flipping him at the deadline for a net positive. If you'd rather not be the beneficiary of that, no worries. We don't even need Dickinson - I saw a proposal from a Hawks fan and thought it would be an interesting move. We'll just hold onto our pick and Mantha then and we will find a way to make the cap work easily.

Then go get someone else. Don't want to waste McM on Scheifele. Very over rated.

You have as good a chance of Mantha being hurt multiple times and continuing to be a frustratingly inconcistant player as you do of flipping him at the deadline for (much) value. No worries and I hope he does stay healthy and bounce back for you and the Hawks can utilize their cap space with some other team more desperate to create space.

Kuz had 55 points with a bad FO percentage and bad defense. That’s not a 1C. That’s a below average 2C at 7.8 million. 2 years ago he’s worth a first sure. Not a chance without retention now
