I assume that you'd make the Martinook offer prior to giving Vilardi the Offer Sheet, otherwise Rob Blake would never take a telephone call from you as long as he remained Kings GM.
The Kings have holes to fill at #2 LhD and in goal, and only a limited amount of cap space with which to do it. Therefore, any transaction NOT involving one of those positions would have to be cap-neutral or cap-positive for Los Angeles, not one that would add $1.8 million in cap. And that would be true even if we DIDN'T have 10 forwards for our top 9 slots, all of whom are superior to Martinook.
Now as to the Vilardi Offer Sheet: Kings happily match. It would create cap problems for us, sure, but none that can't be solved. And then you're on notice that Seth Jarvis is in play in 2024.
