Habs aren't paying a 1st (or anything for that matter) to move Dvorak. He doesn't have negative value for us, and we have plenty of capspace to live through his contract.

Edit: Also, in what universe does Goodrow, Myers and Murray worth MORE than Dvorak ?

That's a ridiculous move for the Habs to make, Dvorak isn't bad enough to warrant moving a 1st to dump him lmao

The Hawks accept all is these except the VAN trade. They're full on the right side so swapping picks roughly 15 spots apart seems likely to never hapoen.

I doubt the other teams accept those trades though. They're pretty one-sided.

Matt Murray and Barclay Goodrow don't waive for Chicago.

And fat chance of Tyler Bertuzzi signing with a Hawks team, That's in full blown rebuilding mode.

So on what planet does a cup contender trade a 24yr old top 4 puck moving dman tied up on a long term contract for a 2nd, especially considering a similar guy just moved for a 1st and 2nd?

I wonder if the hawks will try to get better like this or if it's all picks and prospects they'll try for

I mean if you have the cap space and Myers' real $ isn't as high as his cap, why not move up 15 spots? I don't think Chicago would need to add a pick back anyway. It's not like you can carry forward the cap space you didn't use. If my team was out of it and could add expiring contracts for picks, I'd be stoked. Don't be philly

A lot of these trades are bad / don't make sense, but in the defense of the guy that made this post, the leafs trade kinda makes sense. It's a direct comp from the mrazek trade last summer (and murray has a bigger contract). If anything this doesn't make sense for the hawks who are still stuck with mrazek and would like the backup slot open for our young goalies. Leafs should take this and run imo. Murray is literally their 3rd goalie right now behind Samsanov and brick woll

In a vacuum it makes a little sense, sure, but when it costs the difference of a 4th and 5th to move myers, it changes the plot

They've got plenty of RD on the roster already. Jones, Zaitsev, Murphy, Mitchell, plus Regula is NHL ready. There's no room for him. If Murphy gets traded and Zaitsev gets bought out, they can move C Jones to the right side to make room for Vlasic.

I think developing their prospects is more valuable that moving up 15 spots in the draft.
