Pittsburghs 14th overall will by far be their best prospect, not sure why they trade it for a bunch of depth pieces

Pens decline, not giving up a first for spare parts.

Soderblom has a rare skill set and I doubt Detroit trades him any time soon.

Soderblom isn't available, In fact Yzerman would love more big bodies like his.

I like beck a lot, I'd think about this one. He's an actual center which fits our needs and he's been really good this season. I'm not as high on Elmer as most.

Why would it be better for us to trade a significant asset for Joel Edmundson, who played 61 games for Montreal pretty ineffectively, when we can sign UFA Erik Gustafsson, who played 61 games for Washington and had three times as many points as well as playing better defensively, for free and for less money?

Vancouver isn't under pressure to unload Tyler Myers expensively. Once his $5 million signing bonus is paid in the summer, bottom-8 teams like Arizona or Chicago will be lining up to take his $6 million cap hit for only $1 million in real money. Anaheim's standing ask to take Myers is for a 2024 fourth in exchange for Future Considerations, or a 2024 third for a 2024 sixth. Joel Armia, on the other hand, has a $3.4 million cap hit for two seasons (not one) but costs $8.6 million in real cash over that time, so almost by definition he'll be harder to unload (and more costly) than Myers.

    No one wants Edmundson
I like what you're thinking with Pit but it's impossible to understand if the pieces are bad or were just on a terrible team or both. As such, it is a lot to ask for such a valuable pick and get not much assurance in return. As such, the Pens would pass.

Canucks aren’t gonna move Raty so soon after acquiring him. They probably dump Myers for a mid round pick after his bonus is paid if they need the cap room
