I have a good feeling

Description
I don’t know if I am overthinking things here but my plan is to load up the first line with Veterans +Reichel for the start of the season just to make sure Bedard is able to transition properly. From what I hear he is very close to a sure thing but I also want to contrive a competitive environment so that he grows in more than one meaningful way.

If we fall to 5th, it’s no big deal take Michkov if he is there… best case scenario you have a 21 year old star player joining the team just as soon as we are getting ready to make the jump torwards the playoffs.

Compher won the cup with the avs last year and had a career year this year. No way he signs a 1 year deal.

If he did Chicago makes sense as he can get top lines minutes with Bedard who could potentially put up 70 points as a rookie.

Isles decline...not moving picks to get rid of Bailey for last year. He will ride the bus in Bridgeport or get bought out.

I don’t see why the islanders would unnecessarily restrict themselves next season when they are presumably competing. A 2nd rounder next year is a fair offer to move him but you have the right to refuse.

After all the scouting I've done this year, there are about 10 players that I would be perfectly fine with CHI taking at 3rd 4th or 5th. Bedard or Fantilli would be an absolute luxury, but we are going to get good future players no matter what. I have a feeling that in 5-10 years the 2023 draft will be looked at as one of the greatest drafts of all time and a turning point for the league, and not just because of the top few picks.

One thing that is glossed over with Josh Bailey is the real money he is owed. He is only owed 3.5 Mill on the 5 mill cap hit. This definitely makes his contract more moveable/more palpable for a team like the Blackhawks to take on. Not to mention that Chicago will need to hit the cap floor. (Not saying they won't) That being said I could see the package to get rid of him being less than a 2nd.

That extra fluff for Ian Mitchell is not worth it for the Islanders. Ian Mitchell has done absolutely nothing to be worth a 4th (Conditional 3rd)

The Jets should not trade their 1st round pick.

I'd rather draft Michkov than Carlsson or Smith, due to exactly that reason. We don't need to "settle" for a lesser player. Shoot for the superstar and have him on a good contract when we can actually take advantage of it (to a degree). I'll be happy regardless, and would understand why to take another guy at 3/4/5.
