Montreal would need to add a second this year plus a bit more to that Detroit trade.

Those trades aren't really realistic.
...but I'm here wondering what Gurianov has done to deserve a 4-year deal, at $3.25m per.

Detroit will keep the assets and go to FA to get comparable players if they need to.

Lol at that Hawks trade. A rebuilding Hawks team gives up the only 2 assets in this entire trade that a rebuild team would have any interest in.

How does this make sense for Detroit in any way? Kubalik is cheaper, younger and produces more.

The Pittsburgh trade looks like the Penguins changed their mind and re-hired Hextall as their GM - dealing picks and talented players for fading veterans.

Huge yikes on the Detroit trade. Kubalik isn't great, but that is more like a trade for a draft pick to dump salary for MTL, not get an asset.

Take out DelMastro and the 2nd to Montreal and the Hawks still decline. Hawks counter with Armia, Dvorak and Savard plus the Montreal and Florida '23 1st's for the Hawks '23, '24 and '25 7th rounders.

Yeah, the Pens already have DeSmith who is cheaper and better than Allen. They have Rutta who is so bad they desperately want to trade him and he is cheaper and better than Edmundson.

If you want to offload Edmundson, you'll probably have to attach a pick.

tears of joy tears of joy That's harsh. But yeah... It's awful. No chance CHI pays MTL to help them get out of bad contracts.

So the Wings take on a ton of underperforming cap hits and give up a 40 point guy making less than 3mil who is younger? And all they get is to move up less than 30 draft spots roughly? Why in the hell would Detroit make that trade?

Another delusional Habs post where they get rid of bad contracts and players and get better assets for doing so.

So the pens pay you a cheap and young #4/5 defenseman, a 3rd, and 6th for two cap dumps and a 7th. Sounds like a terrible way to manage assets for the pens. Take out the picks going to Montreal and Montreal adds their unprotected 1st for 2023 going to the pens. Otherwise the pens probably have better ways to use the cap space they have for the 1st time in like 15 years.
