Who decided it was a good idea to trade up

Description
I am sorry if I offended you cause you decided trading from 5th to 1st or 2nd was a good idea but the difference in talent between Bedard and Smith isn't worth the cost to move up. Besides that, no one even knows if Bedard will be the best player to come out of this draft, 3 years ago Lafreniere was touted as the next generational talent and he is currently no better than Joel Armia. In fact if you redid that draft I am not sure Laf would even make the top 6 based on their careers so far, I would have Stutzle, Sanderson, Drysdale, Lundell, Guhle and Schneider as the top 6 (not in that order but those would be the top 6). Fact is no one knows how these guys are going to develop Bedard is supposed to be the next McDavid but Smith at 6th could end up the next Draisaitl or Aho or Barkov is the drop off between those guys really worth Caufield + Smith? IMO it is not. I say be happy with what you have and keep building the right way, instead of dwelling on what might have been.

I know Laf has been disappointing so far, but to say he’s no better than Joel Armia is a stretch

Really, 3rd line winger who averages about 30 points a season when he is on, has good size and above average speed. Armia was also a former 1st round pick who hasn't panned out (16th OVA). It is not much of a stretch my friend, the difference is Laf still has time to figure it out whereas Armia doesn't.

bro Armia didnt even sniff the show until he was 22, a year older than Laf is rn. Laf has already bested armias career high. Laf is a third line winger cuz thats how the rangers deployed him. If he got top 6 ice and PP1 playing with Fox and all those playmakers Laf would be raking in points all this time.

This draft is stacked, but I think 2 is closer to 1 than 3/4/5 is too 1/2, I believe it’s more of an mcdavid eichel type draft over a Mathews laine Dubois tkachuk draft, but we will see obviously, in saying that the cost to move to 1 is near impossible with a tore down hawks, potentially to two would be doubtful, but closer to possible with anaheim situation, colombus probably keen for a 1c so interesting what they do.

Easier to Target CBJ or SJS pick for Michkov
I dont think CBJ wants him after Russian Gretzky Sergei Moyzakin snubbed them i think CBJ wants Carlsson or Smith
SJS might be interested but Smith or Leonard seems more likely

That said nothing in life is for sure unless you make it that way.
Get CBJ Pick and Grab Mickov with it and Reinbacher or Smith with the 5th OA pick

But from my POV if Bedard is Sundin from the 1989 draft then Mickov is Pavel Bure the only other PPG player in that draft .
People write him off because he's russian but he's a for sure the only other Elite level player besides Bedard.
While Bedard i think is the better player the Superior Goal Scorer and only one with a Pro Season under his belt is Michkov.
Its why he's 3rd in IIHF World Juniors u-18 Goalscoring behind Ovechkin at 2nd with 14 goals in 8 games and Caufield in 1st with 14 goals in 7 games.

Imagine having 2/3 IIHF top Goal Scoring record holders leading their own lines in the top 6?
