Serious ACGM team

Created by: CorrosionRF
Team: 2023-24 Calgary Flames
Initial Creation Date: May 6, 2023
Published: May 10, 2023
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Complete overhaul. A lot of this is just messing around. Some of these trades are my own. Some I have seen suggested by ACGMs of other teams, if so I will put their name in additional details. Made all this pre lotto, making a new one now.
Trades
1.
CGY
  1. Lafrenière, Alexis [RFA Rights]
  2. 2023 3rd round pick (COL)
Additional Details:
Laf doesn't get the ice time on the Rangers team that he needs to be worthy of 1st Overall. I also think he gets moved this offseason anyways. (He'll get resigned as I make this, just watch.) This could be considered an underpay for Mang right now but if he develops properly it will look like a fleece.
NYR
  1. Mangiapane, Andrew ($2,900,000 retained)
  2. 2024 6th round pick (CGY)
Additional Details:
Sounds like Drury is on his last chance to make something happen with this Rangers squad. Mang fits their competitive window and could make an impact on a stacked Rangers team. He has term so it isn't like the Rags are paying for a rental, besides what's better than one bread man.... Two bread men
2.
CGY
  1. 2023 3rd round pick (DET)
Additional Details:
For
DET
  1. Vladar, Daniel
Additional Details:
Vladar
3.
CGY
  1. Boqvist, Adam
  2. Mateychuk, Denton
  3. Sillinger, Cole
  4. 2024 1st round pick (CBJ)
Additional Details:
Getting some of those kids out of there before big Mike enters the building. 1st + Sillinger for Lindholm, Mateychuk for retained Tanev, Boqvist for cap relief.
CBJ
  1. Lindholm, Elias
  2. Tanev, Christopher ($2,250,000 retained)
  3. 2023 3rd round pick (DET)
Additional Details:
Lindholm Signs Extension post trade. Tanev is a shutdown defensemen I'm betting Babs would like.
4.
CGY
  1. Olausson, Oskar
  2. 2023 1st round pick (COL)
COL
  1. Backlund, Mikael
Additional Details:
Kadri replacement
5.
CGY
  1. Hallum, Jackson [Reserve List]
  2. 2023 1st round pick (VGK)
  3. 2023 3rd round pick (BUF)
VGK

I think if you move the '23 2nd to a 3rd you've got a deal from CBJ.

Caps are only going all in on young, top 6 players. Toffoli is great but doesn't fit what Caps will be looking for.

I highly doubt that the Canes consider moving Blake. Drop Blake and add in some retention on Mang and I think there might be a deal that can be worked out.

Lindholm had better come with an extension at that price.

I don't know that St. Louis has the physical room for an LD or the cap room for another expensive defenseman without significant moves.

We would need a sign and trade for us to consider since our Center depth is an issue but I am not opposed to the general idea especially if we draft smith as we are looking like it will be 5 years until he gets his first big boy contract.

I'd argue he's ready for a shot in the NHL with how well he has played in the AHL. Definitely not 1C, but start 4C
