No. And Tavares isn't waiving his NMC for Detroit or any team. He'll be quite content collecting his 11 mil AAV for 2 more years captaining his hometown Leafs.

Looks like your value is so far off, in this situation leafs add Mathews to the wings deal and can keep jt

Don't like Nylander....Tell us why would a non playoff team trade two first rounders for upcoming UFA?

I'll be honest, if it wasn't all the garbage packed with JT, I'd consider it. I'd put lottery protection on the Boston pick if it falls to a 2025 pick (ie, Bruins get top 10 pick next year after the cap related exodus of talent). I'd be fine with a 1st and second for 2 years of JT at 8 million.

Of course, no way Tavares waives his NMC for Detroit.

Having Tavares play 1A/1B with Copp, Kasper, Rasmussen all options in the top 6 or 3C? Yeah, that helps a ton.

yep, that's a worse team and some horribly terrible value for trading Nylander.
It is absolutely hilarious that anyone could watch Nylander last night and pretend that's a good offer for him

Ok I'm curious. Tavares is the Leafs captain. He's playing for his hometown Leafs making 11 mil AAV for 2 more seasons.

He plays in the playoffs every season. He recently became a father. Why would he waive his NMC to go somewhere else?

because their not the smartest franchise especially when it comes down to acquiring players. they still have a chance of making the playoffs. if they trade Myers and acquire a new defender. They're not in a rebuild. they are in a re-tool.

Bruh. No NHL GM is trading 2 1sts for a pending UFA. Not even Chiarelli.

Don't think VAN would be willing to give up 2 1sts for a guy with 1 year left.

Canucks easily decline. Not giving up 2 1sts for a rental. Not only that, but we also can't afford Nylander at all and already have too many wingers as is.

Not sure JT would get a first even paid down to 8M when you're attaching Murray to him.... let alone JT is not going to waive.

That is alot of Leaf junk in exchange for value, with no real thought as to whether the other team would have any interest in whats on offer.

How about thinking about the other team?

(And why resign guys like Mete, Hollowell, Zohorna, etc...? None are prospects or young anymore, what do they bring to the Toronto Maple Leafs?)

Even it doesn't have to be Detroit, no team has the luxury to be taking on over $12.6M in cap for just draft picks.
Money needs to be sent the other way for a trade to work properly.
