How about TB makes that 6 a 3 next year and you take Seabrook too?

For 7 million that 3 better turn into a 1.

I think Flames could get a 1st+ for a rental Tanev, due to him being one of the better RD in the league. Though I think the Tampa deal is pretty solid and realistic.

It's 900k real cash and LTIR you're absolutely higher than Snoop Dogg if you think that happens. We'll find a very low revenue team to do it .

It is was just making what I think is a reasonable counter doesn't mean they wouldn't do this and move Seabrook elsewhere

Good idea for moving up to Washington's spot, they still get a great player at 13 and they add a 25-30 goal winger for cheap. Tanev would be a good target, but don't think Calgary moves him for that sort of package. I'd rather just sign Mayfield and keep those assets. Joki can be our 3rd pair RHD and Lyubushkin the press-box manager

I think the flames could get more for Tanev, especially at the trade deadline with some retention.

I wouldnt hate the deal if they did it though.

All depends on how CGY values this draft class compared to next. If they're looking for rental it'll be a low 1st next year if he's traded to a competitor. If buff made it the Philly 2nd (early 2nd vs late first very equal in value) this year in a deep draft, if CGY values this draft class very highly, they just might take it.

The thing is, Mayfield will command too much for too long. I really think we need a long term solution for powers partner who is 3.5mil or less. We still have to pay Levi, Quinn, Peterka, Krebs, Mittsy, Dahlin, Power, Tuch Again at some point.

Tanev is a good stop-gap who may sign for another year to an affordable contract and he's from Toronto. He'd work well until Reinbacher slides in on his entry level deal in a year or two

I've seen mocks with reinbacher going as high as 5. If that's the case, hopefully one of simashev or willander is available at 13. I don't think we would move up to get them.

Flames aren’t interested in Jokiharju

Either make it Peyton Krebs for Tanev straight up

OR Olofsson 50% retained + 2023-2nd-PHI + Olivier Nadeau

The Capitals are not going to move back five spots and out of the Top 10 for a 27-yr old who scored more than 20 Goals exactly once as a Pro and a mid-2nd a season from now. The Capitals will gladly just take who they want at 8th overall. Also Olofsson is a PowerPlay Dependent Winger, I’m pretty sure his point totals would take an absolute dive on the Capitals. You’d be hard pressed to find a player the Capitals could use LESS than Viktor Olofsson.

I like Jost as a 13 F, but not for 2.2 mill. We need to find 1 of those S.Gagner types, for $800K.

I know willander is rocketing up the rankings, I don't know much except hes 6'2", right handed, plays physical, and played 30 min a night getting heavy minutes for the national team, and was leaned on more than aps. I think simashev is bigger, left handed and committed to the khl for two more years. Sounds more like zadorov to me, but he's generally rated higher than willander the mocks I've seen. I almost wanna go willander just because lefties are just more available, and therefore righties are more valuable.plus we need a good righty at some point.

Caps aren't trading their 1st unless it's for a very good young top 6 player with term.

After the bonus is paid it appears Brett's salary is still $2,500,000 as per CF.
if that is the case, then the 6th would have to be at least a 2nd.

While Krebs should improve, he is also a player who could be expendable with Kulich, Savoie, etc in the wings.
Tanev for Krebs appeals to me, but I am not an NHL scout, nor GM, nor coach, LOL.

Mayfield probably signs a 4-5 year deal at 4-4.5 mil. That's extremely reasonable for a player with his skillset

Yeah but we can't afford it in year 4&5 and he's likely to have declined by then and may be hard to unload

I don't see why we couldn't afford it. Cap will go up. Mayfield isn't going to decline much by age 34-35, if at all.

Quinn, peterka, mittsy, power, Dahlin, Levi, and Tuch extensions … I feel like everyone forgets we’ll need to resign Tuch too and it’s not going to be cheap
