I think NYR is better served trying to offload a contract with Laf, say Hayes at 50% and Ristolinen (arent you glad I didnt say DeAngelo?) for Trouba and Laf, or Goodrow and Laf for Hayes at 50% and Allison

Agreed, this is similar to what Chicago did when they tried to get rid of Bickells contract back in the day - they ended up having to throw in Terravainen to do so. There are a few teams out there that have the cap space to take on a big contract and give the Rangers some flexibility. This is the better option that losing Laff for a 2nd rounder in an offer sheet.
