Canucks trade idea

Description
Saw a similar trade in a armchair team by kingkanuck.

So do this trade, which I think is fair but Canucks might need to give a little more. Then hope that Poolman is LTIR, or at least Studnicka is a bust and you send him to the AHL. Hoglander might need to start in the AHL too, but given his year of improvement I think he will make it out of camp.

If Poolman plays than might have to take a September hit to move Myers, lose a prospect and/or pick.

I honestly think that if the players have trained hard in summer and start back in August in Vancouver you could have a team that plays well, buys into the system and makes the playoffs.

I’ve seen Garland to Nash about 3 billion times but if y’all wanted to give us the 11th pick i’ll take it

Vancouver needs more high end talent. They have enough middle of the pack players. Trading the 11th overall pick to get rid of their middle of the pack player is a bad idea. High end talent comes from 11th overall type of draft picks.

If they trade the 11th overall, it should be in a package to get a star player, not to unload a decent top 9 player.

Nashville takes this and runs.

Canucks are moving too far back here. If Nashville was willing to do sissons + 15 for Garland + 11 that is something I would probably consider. But that Edmonton pick falls too far back.

I think you are both right. Maybe too much given. But Canucks are alone in being over the cap at this point in time and it isn't even summer. Nucks are in a tight cap space and the league knows it. This has to factor in.

Nucks need a 3C and space cleared. I saw Sissons as a local guy that can fill 3C for a few years for someone like Aman, Raty, Karlson, Sassons, etc. to come up.

I like the, and thought about the Nashville pick instead of Edmontons.

I like the idea of targeting sissons in trade if it's not too expensive.

In terms of creating capspace I think if they are really jammed up on the trade market and can't move someone like garland. Then I think they will seriously consider a buyout with garland instead. It's not ideal because he's a decent player but that is a way out without being bent over by the rest of the league in a trade.

Garland buyout + a Myers trade with 2-3 mil retention would create 7+mil in cap space. Id be considering that in a sort of break glass in case of emergency scenario.
