Intriguing trade idea but Mangiapane is very worrisome. Had a big down year.

I would want Calgary 1st round pick in this trade, rather than the 2nd.

I can see what you proposed here as being a good foundation, but it's lacking a bit for Ottawa to pull the triger.

Calgary 1st, Mangiapane, Vladar for Debrincat and I think both teams should highly consider.

1. Pinto signs for 3 million per year, not 2 million.

2. Calgary fleeces you

Decent for Ottawa not so good for Calgary in the sense that they are already strapped for cap space and have several players to re-up after the upcoming season.

Right, And where's Calgary coming up with the $8,000,000 to $9,000,000 long term to sign DeBeincat?

I have thought that too, but as "Ledge and Dairy" pointed out, Mangiapane actually has a very high shooting percentage on average. Last year was very high, and this year fell below average. That being said, 90% of our team had a down year under Sutter.

I think it is a fair trade. Although Calgary would need to clear additional cap space. Mangiapane gives Ottawa cost certainty while they resign their other RFAs. He would also light it up with a more offensively minded center (which isn't a knock against Backlund). I don't see Calgary giving up their 1st this year because the pipeline is pretty dry. A 2nd is fair, although Ottawa may want Tanev as a short stop for their defensive 2nd line.

I'd make space for that deal.

If the Flames could make the space for this I would hope they take that and run.

OTT declines, Vladar has little value and is a worst G than forsberg, Mag is way too risky for OT to gamble on
