  1. Byfield, Quinton
  2. Clarke, Brandt
  3. Iafallo, Alex
  4. Vilardi, Gabriel [RFA Rights]
  5. 2024 1st round pick (LAK)
Additional Details:
LA is the perfect fit for Matthews. I can only see him wanting to go to a west coast team or Vegas/Rangers. This deal bring back a boat load of young talent to the leafs. Leafs would likely sign Mathew’s to an extension before trading.
2.
TOR
  1. Fabbro, Dante
  2. Tomasino, Philip
  3. 2023 2nd round pick (NSH)
  4. 2024 2nd round pick (TBL)
NSH
  1. Nylander, William
Additional Details:
Nylander gets to go to a smaller market where can safely not give a damn about consistency. Preds new GM makes a splash, trading a this far underperforming defensive talent, a young unproven undersized winger and a couple 2nds for an elite scoring winger. They’re still in win mode with Josi and Saros on the team

Tomasino fits our window. Nylander doesn’t. And I have a personal dislike towards Nylander and his style of play. I’d hate him on Nashville.

Pretty ridiculous trade.

Again they really need to tame their expectations if he is traded.

He's a RENTAL until otherwise

I'd like to see Nylander in Raleigh... I think he would be a very very good fit with the Canes considering his scoring touch and he fit's the speed requirement for the Hurricanes system. He would also get an offseason to learn the system and would be a great fit with Svech and Aho

Glad you added Clifford and Steeves to the trade. That will persuade the Kings for sure. Kings don't have the cap to take on Matthews this year, and they likely wouldn't want to give up so much for Matthews anyway. Just wait till UFA.

Los Angeles has been built over the past 5 years on exactly the opposite strategic plan of the "iceberg" approach favored by Edmonton and Toronto; the Kings aren't going to switch places with the Maple Leafs now. If we can add Matthews as a free agent in 2024, we will. Imagine him in Kopitar's spot! And surrounded by all that talent, a significant part of which you're hoping we'll give you. (The picture of Quint "the Basher" Byfield on Matthews' left and Gabe "the Gunner" Vilardi on his right is simply too divine to dwell on.)

You absolutely would be eating these words. Nylander is awesome and anyone who hates him is just ridiculous.

He isn't going anywhere though so it's all moot.

Offensive weapon, of course, but a defensive liability. Countless times these playoffs he’s floating around the defensive zone doing jack all. And he’s soft, scared to get a little dirt on his hands. Not to mention how much the dude cherry picks.

Not denying his talent, I just personally don’t want him on my team. He also just doesn’t fit our window like Tomasino does.

EDIT: Hynes also loves defensive physical players, which Nylander is not. He wouldn’t fit here

Lol, nylander literally scores the bulk of his goals and gets most of his chances from "the dirty areas "

Leafs fans - I’m trading ONE year of Matthews for literally every one of your great players you have, never mind we don’t have the cap space to do any of these trades and if you don’t like the trade, we Leaf fans will tell you your crazy……it’s Matthews!

If Matthews is getting traded it’s because he’s informed Toronto he ain’t staying. Everyone would know that. At that point you are hoping for an Eichel like return….not this madness lol

Oh it doesn't? I've watched 90% of the playoff games thus far. I also went to game 2 this series lmao.

I don't like him.
