I mean... CHI accepts, but that seems like a lot... to say the least. haha.

I can see how it might be hard to be happy with that 2nd round performance. Getting past the 1st round is nice and all, but the goal is always the cup.

Not 2 1sts for Murphy and Blackwell

The fact that they scored 3 and only 2 counted was disheartening thought tbh. Then the pick that caused the 3rd goal for FLO was depressing. But, I don't regret thinking that they had a legit chance of winning the whole thing

I used the Jake McCabe trade as an imperfect framework for acquiring Connor Murphy.

TBH, it was the way they lost; outplayed FLO all 5 games but refused to finish; happened every series from 2018-2021

Vancouver has too many NHL quality wingers and they need to shed cap.

Also, Beauvillier would be a rental and Vancouver is not retaining any salary.

I would want one of the 4ths if not both out of this. Murphy is on a fair contract for what he is...the contract is not negative nor positive....3 more years at 4.4 is more than reasonable. To me, Murphy is worth a late first to someone in the league. Retaining 6.6 in cap is worth a late 1st too.

Yeah. I kinda figured as much. That is a lot of retention, after all, and the 4ths add something there. Blackwell is fine but not worth much, if anything. It might be fine, it might not be. I would certainly accept it, though.

If you cannot fathom why so many Leaf fans are upset, then you shouldn't be commenting on how this fan base ought to be "grateful" for anything. When management runs this core back time and time again, you expect concrete steps and solid results. The truth is this group ultimately have not delivered and now over the next 2 years, they will all be needing major extensions. It's simply time for a change.

That makes sense, but I believe it was a 1st and a 2nd, not 2 1sts.

You're absolutely right.

Although I would look at it this way:

1. Boston's 1st is #28 overall and Toronto's 2024 1st will probably be just as late next year.

2. The Leafs are not giving up any quality depth players like Joey Anderson.

3. The Leafs are getting two fourths instead of two fifths.

A bit too much for Murphy.

Van should pass on that, Beauvillier fit pretty well there.
