There's no way the Leafs are keeping Mitch, Matthews, JT, and Willy after yet another playoff disappointment. I'm not saying that Willy isn't worth 9.5, but AT LEAST one big piece has to move this offseason. If Dubas (or whoever replaces him) signs Willy to that contract, that would be $45,003,000 tied up in only four players, not to mention MO's 7.5. That would prove the team hasn't learned anything from the past 7 years.

I truly think no one will get moved. We just have to wait out the Tavares contract. Then our core will pretty much be the same but we’ll be able to make the rest of the team significantly better.

-What's the maximum Matthews could get out of Toronto or on the open Market?

-It's hard to argue he's worth more than McDavid and McKinnon beyond inflation.

- I think it's really hard for Toronto to pay more than 14 million AAV.

-Would any team pay him 15 million (or more), to steal him?

Not a bad point, but can they afford to wait two more years? Especially if those two years have the same result as years past.

I just don't see any other option/way that significantly increases our chances of competing for the Stanley Cup.
