I know many Habs fans would be opposed to that trade but I am not. Im all for it. In fairness though, I really feel Pitt shouldn't be trading quality for quantity right now. They need a homerun more than they need multiple swings IMHO.

I feel Garland would be great for our middle six. Zucker needs to walk, he was good but we should try to get younger and get away from the staleness of the last couple seasons. As for goalies, it’s tough- maybe Varlomov and Hill tandem and use extra money saved to upgrade a forward?

I can see that argument and agree with it, but in reality we have 1-2 more chances with Crosby. Will that 14th pick help us this year? Possibly next, but it’s a toss up. Gathering more assets to fix this team is the best option imo.

if we can keep our 2nd rounder to draft a goalie or Strbak it would be easier to deal Fla 1st and Avs 2nd. There is too much prospect that we should look at ... !

I feel like that might be a slight overpay for Bear. Also that's a really good deal for Buffalo given their cap room!

Canucks need to move out cap would have to consider any trade like this. Fair value won’t happen & they’ll need or be forced into a less than ideal trade or more.

As others have said I am not opposed to this type of move but would rather move the 2nd to the 2024 draft even if it means upgrading from Ylonen to a Struble type of prospect or upgrading the 4th to a 3rd in 2023

Can’t see the Sabres having any interest. My thoughts on petry notwithstanding, the extra year just complicates things.

With the last year of the deal, cap should be up a couple million. Plus Lyubushkin and/or Joker are gone

The last thing the Pens need are more teeny forwards with big contracts. Hard no.

Agreed but Tom Wilson, Josh Anderson, and Lawson Crouse’s all don’t just fall into our laps. Geekie Fischer and Barbashev add some size

It’s going to go up by less with Bally sports collapsing. And whatever money is coming off the books twice as much is being added. Power, Dahlin, Mittelstadt, Krebs. If they want to make any additions after that they are better off not having that cap hit on the books. It’s just not worth it.

No, but Billy G's in cap hell, Marcus Foligno could probably be had for less than ransom. And Zemgus Girgensons is scheduled to be UFA. If Buff doesn't re-sign him prior to that he'd be a nice add to the bottom six, as well. Just need a few guys who play with an edge and can chip in that can be had for less than a future piece like POJ.

I would love Foligno at the right cost. Girgensons is eh depending what we have added before free agency.

Taking Petry wouldn't be my first choice, but I'd do it if the market doesn't provide better options. I'd think he'd be good on our third pair and could play up if we have injuries. Would prefer someone younger, though.

If we are clearing a forward then it should be rust or Guentzel not zucker
I love both of those guys but zucker plays like he cares every single game and brings the intensity this team needs so badly
Honestly I don’t want more than 1 goalie from free agency
The other 1 should be jarry or someone we trade for like Samsonov, Swayman, Vejmelka, etc

I agree about moving one of, if not both 59 and 17. But pens fans will cry
