That’s a huge over payment for Hanifin. I’ll Take It!

In all seriousness, the 2023 or 24 1st + Liljegren is more than enough, if not a slight over pay as well

Im a habs fan and wouldn't even make that Matthews trade so idk how its an overpay. Hes got 1 year left on his deal and the leafs get a 20 year old current top 4 d, future top pairing d, who plays a defensive and gritty game, the mold of player they need to win given how bad their d core currently is.

As for Hanifin, I don't think it's an overpay if you extend him, those firsts are gonna very late picks, most likely never NHLers, and hannifin can play in the top 4.
