Calgary isn't interested interested in trading their 1C to add another 8 figure winger. Already can barely afford the first

In other words Calgary doesn't want to get younger and better.

Hanifin and Marner are the same age and Lindholm is 4 years younger than Brodie.... they definitely would not be getting younger and don't know that this trade makes them that much better

Hanafin and Brodie don't really matter in the trade. It's Marner Vs Lindholm. Marner is younger and better. Doesn't matter though, the core is staying put.

I agree realistically none of the core 4 are going anywhere just yet.

Thoughts on moving Marner to Centre!?

I’m sure he was one prior to the NHL and he expected to play Centre on the Leafs when he first joined the club

Not sure this is the Trade exactly, but Marner is a very good hockey player and I don’t consider him just another Huberdeau either

Before signing with the Leafs he played ona line with Christian Dvorak and Matthew Tkachuk. Dvorak was the clear center.

Calling him just another Huberdeau is a bit blunt as they are different players. However they are both pass first guys making over 10M and neither plays center. That is just poor cap structure

As always, I take your opinion highly Ledge

I agree investing down the middle and being strong there is more important than the wing
