Say you know nothing about Ottawa's cap situation without saying you know nothing about Ottawa's cap situation.

JBB had 99.9% of the cup roster already laid out due to Yzerman, As far as the team choking. That's on Jon Cooper not Steve Yzerman for not getting them properly ready.

So everything good is his doing but everything bad is someone elses fault. Got it

I was like 6 years old but I can still remember new Red Wings GM Jimmy D saying "I have a 9 year plan." LOL

Wasn't even alive for this time. About 5 years after Holland inherited the team.

I mean to give no credit to JBB for bringing in key (role) players is silly, but 99% of the team was crafted by Yzerman - most of the credit should go to the GM that built the insane core.

Yeah when a team performs badly in the playoffs, That's on the Coach not the GM. Yzerman gave JBB the talent to succeed JBB hasn't done a darn thing.

I remember not knowing who the Red Wings GM was in the 96/97 season. Was it Bowman? Jimmy D? Holland was still Assistant GM. But he wasn't named GM until the summer after they won the Cup.

I remember being pissed Holland traded Mike Vernon for a draft pick so his boy Osgood could be the unanimous starter.

Yeah he definitely deserves credit for the foundation of the team, I'm just not convinced he can take a team to that final step

Whatever man. If you think adding two roles players is what sent Tampa over the edge; I've got some solar panels to sell ya.
