As much as I like Burakovsky, not that much/ He only played in 49 games and is signed until he's 33 for 5.5... Maybe if it was just a straight first, but this is a little much.

Going from burakovksy to o’reilly is a massive downgrade in every aspect but defensively.

If Seattle moves on from any forward in their top 9 it’s probably to free up a spot for kartye or wright in it and they would use that cap to upgrade the defence

I don’t think his injury problems this year are to be concerning, he’s been able to stay rather healthy for most of his career. He would also be a solid replacement for Pax, not as good of a shooter probably because he doesn’t take as many shots but he is a consistent/ efficient scorer, but definitely a better puck handler and playmaker.

Considering Dundon wants to resign Max, he's not replacing him. He's also not a better puck handler or playmaker than Max when he's actually playing at his best.

As for his injury concerns, it's not just this year. He missed half of this season. Sure he only missed 2 games last year and 3 the year before that but he missed significant time the year before that, and was plagued by his injuries in Washington. This is not a player with a track record of health

I think I’d take my chance with burakovsky rather then the guy who has played 92 games in the last 3 season (not including PO’s).

What are the odds pax even returns not to mention comes back the same, his Achilles is gone. Unless they pull a kuch and rest nearly all season I would not be surprised if he just re-tore it again if he came back

Buddy, what are you on about? He rushed back from the first surgery because he wanted to get back to playing as quickly as possible. The second surgery he's having is the same one Duclair had. His achillies is not going to be the issue. It's shocking how illinformed people are on this. The last part of Pacioretty that will be injured again now is going to be his achillies.

I'd much rather take my chances with the guy that is a point per game when he gets into the lineup than a guy that missed as much time and does not produce as much.

Dunn would be selling himself short with that deal. He should do a year at that AAV after putting up 60 points. If he puts it up again, he will get 8+.

Dunn's contract is a little low, add 1M and that's about right.

Not a fan of the O'Reilly signing as I don't think he has two seasons left in him.

I don't think Sprong pulls that big a return but it would be nice. At the end of the day GM's are going to have to figure out if the numbers were part of a system that works for Sprong and makes him look better or was it a fluke. I think Seattle let's him test UFA this off season and don't qualify him. If he's still a FA they'll come back to him.
