I don't like Duchene much... but TOR would definitely need to take this and run.

Yeah I think this is an overpay - can you imagine Toronto picking with that 2025 1st after Marner has walked to UFA

Flip Duchene for something else. You can't reject 3x 1sts, 24 yr old D man, and Duchene @ retained cap hit.

I don't like him either-- but it's not albatross contract @ $5.5

You used up all your cap space, gave away all those 1sts, and NSH still isn't significantly better.

They'll build a statue of you in front of Scotiabank Arena though.

Nashville’s center depth is still beyond a tire fire, no capspace to fix it, marner walks at ufa, toronto ends up with atleast 1 top 10 pick in there.

Nashville isn't going to be a contender any time soon so it doesn't make sense for them to offload 3 1sts like that.
They were in sell mode last season offloading Ekholm, Jeannot, Granlund, and Niederreiter.

It'd be tough to turn down 3 1sts for Marner but the Leafs would want a deal centered around Forsberg or Saros.
