As much as i'd like to see Girgensons get traded, Sabres probably arent looking at more LHD

Del Zotto isn't worth a signing. Plus Penguins have a solid defensive core, no need to pay 2.5 for him. But getting Girgersons from BUF was a good move.

yeah i flip flopped with Delzotto or Kulikov as you need someone mobile with Maatta. Delzotto won out because he was more durable then Kulikov. Pens didn't need another injury prone dman.

Right now under contract they have 5 defenseman (i'm being generous considering justin Falk a nhl defenseman) 2 of which are righty and 3 are lefty. Not like they are devoid of right handed dmen,

I'm counting Beaulieu, and you forgot Guhle as well as Austin and Nelson, who look to be some decent depth (7-8th guys) Beaulieu, McCabe, Antipin, Gorges, Guhle, and Austin all LHD Risto, Bogo, Nelson on RHD. Botterill is the only wild card because he's worked with Pouliot before

yeah I didn't count Guhle and Antipin or Nelson as neither has made an NHL impact and really Guhle has the best chance to. Antipin is small thin defenceman who has never played in North America. Adjusting to the speed and increased physicality will be big for him.
Not saying Pouliot is great he isn't and is now a depreciating commodity as the Pens have never figured out how to develop him but somehow managed to salvage Schultz but Girgensons is also on a the down swing.
If Botterill stays true to what was done in pittsbugrh collecting young defenseman and trading them for useful pieces may be the move he makes.
