Karlsson would be awesome for the Powerplay and offensive touch, Morgan needs to get help on this side. But from a defensive prospective that D core looks worse than before. McCabe should be a 3rd Pair guy and I would love to see Schenn back in the blue and white.
I rather would trade Marner instead of Willy besides the engine of the team would be gone.
Samsonov and Woll is a good tandem - I can see a world, where Swayman could be a Leaf as well.

May have to add a mid/late round pick in the Murray dump also.

Switch Nylander with Marner and Pit would accept. They aren't going to trade 14 overall for a rental.

Would it leave us with much cap space to sign at least 2 more 3rd liners, a starter, and a 2nd pairing dman though?

The only reason Chicago even considers taking Murray is to get the Boston '23 1st. Without that pick, there is no trade.

take the third rounders out of the Kuzy trade and I think Washington accepts, but I don't think you'd be able to get draft capital back when the Toronto first will be late and 2 mil is retained on Kuznetsov.

You'd have to scrap the 2nd pair dman - which is unneeded really anyways

    Guentzel - Crosby - Marner (25.6MM)
    Zucker (4MM) - Malkin - Rakell (15.1MM)
    Puustinen - Poehling - Rust (7.2MM)
    OConnor- Carter - Archibald (4.9MM)

    52.8MM on forwards

    Petterson - Letang (10.1MM)
    POJ - Petry (7MM)
    Smith - Rutta (3.6MM)

    20.7MM on defense

    Jarry + DeSmith (6.3MM)

That is 79.8MM for a full roster of starters.

Add in Ruhwedel and 2 forwards and you're at roughly 82.5. Add in Johnson buyout and you're at the cap.

It would necessitate trading Granlund or buying him out and cutting a million somewhere else.

I believe Pittsburgh don’t have the assets to pull of a Marner trade, that’s why I went with Nylander.
