Both trades make the Leafs worse. Kuzy is into cocaine…. Plus you don’t get better trading 100 point Selke nominated forwards in their prime.

Yeah hard pass form the Capitals. One of these guys has proven he can carry a team to winning a cup.. the other fails to win more than 1 game in the 2nd round. 😊. But serious that’s way too much for Marner and I would kindly decline. His cap hit is way too big and we can easily use that $$$ way better in FA while keeping assets and gaining more for moving Kuzy.

Those UFA contracts are exactly what Dubas works so hard to avoid. The best thing the Leafs do is avoid overpaying the middle of the roster, this is the opposite of that.

People can argue about how the stars are "overpaid" but the really bad contracts are the middle tier overpays, like both of these.

They can't overpay the middle because the "regular season stars" are overpaid
