You can't go off of where the teams they lost to went. If that's the case the Leafs lost to Habs (cup final), Lightning (cup final), Bruins (cup final), etc. and you would be calling the Leafs even better for losing in 7 to all of them with that logic.

That team was not good enough to bet on at all, the goalie was great, D not good enough, and forward core was very good but not deep enough for a cup.

They difference between all the Toronto examples and Columbus is that Tuuka had a .950. They got goalied. Same way Toronto did in 2020. Toronto didn't play a goalie that went literal god mode in any of those series you mentioned. Hell, Campbell had a higher sv % than Price in 2021.

If you're getting goalied with a vezina winner in net you aren't good enough.

If you're asking what was catastrophic I don't know what to tell you. They bet on a middling team in a year when everyone good wanted out at the end of their deals, they knew it, didn't trade them for a ransom anyways, gave up even more futures getting an expiring deal, and have stunk ever since. You guys didn't just lose those futures, you also lost everything you could have got for Bob, Panarin, Duc, etc

Leafs have had their issues for sure, but not that bad with this group. Interesting that even worse Habs team made the cup final when the Leafs captain got his head knocked off his body in game 1 and the CBJ didn't.

Thank you for admitting you have no idea what you’re talking about. Have a great night.

when you make arguments that are bad and have no response, what a classic.

Or a 7 game series in hockey has extremely high volatility lmao.

More games you play the more the stats should level out if you're actually good. In a 6 game series, if they're a 950 your offense isn't good enough and/or you aren't making life hard enough on their goalie.

This is just a completely idiotic bad faith argument. Surely it's not possible that a goalie could just play absolutely insane for 6 games even if your offense is performing. No, there's just no way.
Pretty funny made a brand new account just to troll though, says a lot about you.

No brother this is a bad faith argument:

"Or a 7 game series in hockey has extremely high volatility lmao."

It's much easier to play out of your mind when you're playing against a team that isn't good enough to win a cup. Pretty funny how you deflect to my accounts age instead of making a good argument though.

Ignoring that sometimes, a goalie just goes insane and beats you, even while having good chances, is a possibility means that you know nothing about hockey, or sports in general. In all sports history, I'm sure there's never been times where 1 side plays extremely well, but a player on the other team just isn't gonna let it happen and wins regardless. Bad faith arguments over and over and over again from you, no wonder you're on a brand new account. Probably got banned for instigating arguments before or something since that's clearly all you want to do. Have a fun time with that, no gonna waste any more time on such a massive troll that has no concept of a reasonable trade.

I've never had an account, but keep going back to that bad faith argument. Of course goalies go insane and beat teams, usually those teams aren't the better team anyways though. What's even more insane than that is believing that the CBJ that year were good enough to win a cup.

That year for CBJ, has to be a top 5 disaster year of poor decision making by management up there with the likes of NYI getting Yashin at that price and giving him and DiPietro those contracts they got.

These trades would never happen. Honestly, all of them are absolutely horrible for the other teams. Leafs fans are just mad at being hyped every year and then losing - so best to just ignore. Just remember - "wE wAnT fLoRiDa" LOL

Just like every blinders on Napoleon complex Leafs hater, look at the 2% of Leafs fans and ignore the we want Boston/we want Edmonton. Classic.

Also ignore every reasonable Leafs fan who didn't think they were getting out of the 2nd round regardless of opponent.
