It will take more than 14 overall, Pickering, and Geekie rights to get Keller.

Probably would need to include Pit 1st in 2024 and Sea 1st in 2024.

3 1sts is nuts. He would probably get around what Fiala/Debrincat got, but a little more

Can't imagine it taking three 1sts

So the difference is that Debricat was one year left to be an RFA. He will most certainly command in the range of 8 or 9MM per while Keller is signed for the next 5 years at 7MM.

Also, DeBrincat was traded for #7, #37, and a 3rd. That has a value of 419 + 107 + 20(ish) = 546
That would be equivalent to Pens 2023 1st (300) + Pens 2024 1st (200ish) + Pens 2024 2nd (45ish).

So the Pens would pay 2023 1st, 2024 1st, 2024 2nd for DeBrincat who was 1 year left to RFA. I don't think it would be a stretch to pay 3 1sts and 2 B+ prospects for Keller.

You're paying a premium for his skill and paying a second premium for his contract.

Detroit is past the cap dump phase of our rebuild. Can't see us taking that.

You'll probably have to scrap the Graves signing as that DET trade doesn't go through - but I like the team overall

You have some creative ideas here. Don't agree with it 100% (would rather get Orlov or someone like that on D), but no question it's a much much better team than last year

14th, former 1st round pick, and a solid young forward who imo had potential to reach 40 points. Sure we could add a 2nd, but when was the last time you saw someone get traded for 3 1sts

I know trading a star player just to get another one isn't really realistic, but I think It could be possible. Get younger pieces. Sure we move out 14th, but I think it would be worth it if it was for someone who is signed for semi long term and young like Keller. I think we still add a little to that deal but mo way hes worth 3 1sts.

For the defense I didnt like Graves in round 2, but he makes really good choices defensively. I think it allows Letang to be more active this year which he wasnt really this past year. I wouldnt mind bringing in Orlov instead, however he likely would want more.

I don't mind Graves, he's not bad, but is a little slow. Definitely is a great D, but I think we need a little more speed/mobility on D. I think trading Guentzel for a 1st + more gives us a lot more flexibility to trade one of the other 1sts. Trade Guentzel, get a 1st plus 1 or 2 prospects, then can trade the 1st to get a replacement for him if we want. Makes tons of sense for a team that needs a better prospect pool but wants to win now
