I'd take a flier on Addison maybe, sure

Also didn't the Canes literally JUST trade for Pool Party? Doubt he's going anywhere short term

Yes they acquire him at the 2023 TDL but he only played 7 playoffs games and didn't record a goal in a Canes uniform
Foligno is a clear upgrade on Jesse, and the reason the trade is one for one is because MIN are cap strap and they lose leverage. I think getting a player like JP is better than a 3rd round pick
JP is also good defensively, he isn't useless on the ice

I don't love giving up a 2nd for him, but with the market being what it is, that's probably what he'd cost, so I'd be fine with it too I guess.

I really hope you're right about Rossi in that spot, they need him to come along. If they hold onto him I bet they convert him to wing at some point, ala Mikael Granlund.

He needs a real shot on the top 6, next year will be an important year for him and the franchise

The Canes waited a year just to get JP, they aren’t going to ship him out immediately.

There's a trade on the table that would make your team better but you wouldn't take it because you had to wait a year to get a guy who didn't worked out (in a small samples I agree but still zero goal)
Your team get better with this trade, you receive a good vet who will upgrade your bottom six. Forme it's a no brainer for CAR, but I don't expect everyone to agree with me

JP has better defensive metrics, whereas Foligno puts up more offense. Everywhere else they are pretty much providing bottom 6 gritty play. Might as well keep the cheaper option.

Foligno had kind off a down year tho
He is clearly the better player & CAR are not cap strap
