Initial Creation Date: May 18, 2023
Published: May 18, 2023
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I doubt we get Yurov and Khusnutdinov to come over but if we can that would be super good, idk what the Cap will actually look like, i just made the assumption that it would raise 3M after next season, also dont know if Peart will be NHL ready, i think he could be for sure, but thats very uncertain

Why do you doubt that? It's been reported that they are planning to come over after next season. Ohgren is as well. Firstov is still TBD.

That's pretty unrealistic and you're a MIN fan ? The contracts are so off I'm speechless
Probably none of those guys on the 3rd line will be regular in 2024-25

I like the years on Zucc's extension, but the AAV would be more like 3M. Gus will not get 4.5, I bet BG gets him done for 3 years at 3.5M AAV. And yes, the 3rd line is very unrealistic. All those kids will be over here most likely, but all three will be playing for Iowa. Gaudreau will be on that line, not getting wasted on the 4th.

I think that Zucc, Moose, Hartman, and Flower coming off the books after next season is intriguing because it will mean that they'll have more wiggle room than this summer - but there's no way they will be relying on that many of the kids at that point. Give it a few years.

Most are ELC’s so i assume you’re talking about Zucc, Gus, and Scheifele, i think they can be fair numbers, Zucc could be a lot cheaper but Gus i think 4.5 is probably what he is worth because I think he is in the Oettinger contract range with his production, he’s worth more than flower so he will for sure get more than 3.5 this offseason because I bet thats the argument his agent makes, and Scheifele it depends on his production next season, which I think will end up being better than this year by a bit

Scheifele will be looking for a 7 years contract, like Kadri
Why would he took a 3 years deal at his age ?
I think Gustafsson comparison are more Vanecek & Georgiev, so 3 years at 3.4M ish
And no, the bad contracts I was referring to Mason Shaw, Connor Dewar, Samuel Walker
You are in 2024, Connor Dewar and Samuel Walker aren't signing for 4 years at that AAV
Connor Dewar isn't signing 3 years at that cap hit
They will all probably sign a 1 year deal in 2023 or 2 years deal

I think what prevents his agent from getting that much is Gus's body of work. He was one of the best goalies in the league this season... but only had 37 starts and has no other meaningful experience that would add to the argument to give him 4.5+.

I think he will continue to be really good, especially in the Wild's system and age being on his side, but Guerin with his negotiating cap on will argue that he should get a cheaper bridge deal - maybe even just two years. Goalies are mercurial in this league, which doesn't help Gus's case either. But then once that contract is up and the Wild are out of cap hell, Gus can get a bigger contract if it continues to make sense at that time.

Walker, Dewar, and Shaw are fringe NHLers…they would be lucky to get those contracts!

When was the last time a fringe NHLer signed a 4 years extension (outisde Ross Johnston in New York) ? I remember Tampa signing Tyler Raddysh Boris Kachouk & Alex Barre-Boulet to a 3 years extension league minimum, but never 4 years

That’s basically just a different way of saying what I did!
