The Kings would be much better off signing Severson and getting a good assets for Arvidsson in a trade.
I wouldn't sign Severson to a six year contract.....rather have Brodie this season and cap space next season. Even ROR four year contract is iffy to me.

No interest in Severson on a long term deal, or @ this cap hit-- especially to pair with Mo... if they're not in the O-zone, they'll look awful.

I'm sure the Kings would rather keep Arvidsson and resign Gavrikov for a lesser cap hit than Brodie's contract.

If Brodie wasn’t dealing with an injury (which is sounds like he wasn’t) TOR needs to seriously consider moving him. He certainly needs to move to his strong side next year (LD). So unless Schenn is coming back, will need a RD but Severson wouldn’t be my choice

Gavrikov wants 5 apparently but Brodie is a RD anyways even if he's LHD so no need for him in LA.

RD is his strong-side. Giordano and Brodie used to be a pairing, and they were good enough for Giordano to win a Norris like 3 years ago or whatever.

Brodie plays the right side naturally. He's LH shot I know, but he's stronger on RD.

“ Due to age, decline in play, and one year left on his contract, TJ Brodie is a reasonable trade candidate. Should he return, it is noteworthy that he struggled and only really rebounded once he was moved back to the left side (his strong side). There are defensemen across the league who can play their opposite side, but at the end of the day, it is always easier and more natural on the strong side, where a defenseman can transition the puck up ice without having to rotate their hips and pivot.

Should Brodie return, it should be a goal to get him on the left side permanently. With Morgan Rielly and Jake McCabe already locked in, that would make up the whole left side”

TOR will be better served playing Brodie on his ‘strong side’ LD

yeah i saw this. I hope Sens move Chabot for Weegar tbh. Gets us a little stronger defensively and everyone goes on their natural side

An opinion PC from Anthony Petrielli is not what I would be basing roster decisions off of.

Absolutely, to each their own. But I will happily take opinions from Petrielli who actually covers the Leafs than some dude named Rage44

Tried to find something but couldn't as this was a rumor from around the deadline after the trade. I did see that the Kings and him have been working on an extension recently which I'm guessing that means that number is going to be under 5m.
