Chicago isn’t trading Bedard for a guy who wouldn’t even want to resign with them

Nylander's production is only marginally better than Raymond's in their respective career starts so the trade is fair value, but it just keeps Detroit treading water. Wings need both Nylander and Raymond really.

Also I'd decline that if I'm Chicago and back my judgement that Bedard > Matthews.

Detroit isn't going to trade a cost controlled 21 year old for a 28 year old rental.

Bedard is worth more than Matthews straight up right now, let alone another 1st and 2nd. Why? Matthews has only 1 year left on his agreement while Bedard is cost controlled, on a ELC, and locked in for years as a RFA following his ELC.

And yet you still have Matt Murray hidden on LTIR?

Chicago probably doesn't trade 1oa for matthews straight up. Them adding significant picks on top of that gets a laugh.

I gotta give you props, this is probably the wildest combo of trades and signings I've seen yet. Truly burnt it all to the ground.

Even if Chicago wanted to make that trade(they wouldn't), the NHL would block it since they worked so hard to ensure that Chicago would get Bedard in the "fair" lottery.

He’s only cost controlled for this coming year - he’ll require a $7.5m AAV extension next season and it’s not guaranteed he’ll become as good as Nylander. Idc how comparable their stats are, Nylander is better.

With that being said - ur probably still right.
