Col sure they can do that deal to a rebuilding team for a D but Calgary?? That’s the 6th overall pick and another first. Great pick to start their rebuild possible elite player with how good this draft is

Colorado says no? Are u okay? Girard isn’t good defensively and a liability and he’s small . He’s also playing behind Toews and Byram so a no brainer to move him.

Do they? When they flip Matthews at the deadline they certainly wouldnt get Keller and a 6th OA in return value wise

Idk about that man Keller is sneaky good and can flip the 6th. Also getting rid of Murray and Matthews forgets how to play in playoffs

What about Calgary makes you think they have any interest in taking their roster that direction though? They're literally built to try to win now, and they aren't going to make a trade like that at this point.

I'm going with the assumption this is for Matthews who has agreed to an extension.

And people can say "Hes not signed so its a rental" but that's literally not how it works, look at Horvat.

Nice assumption that I think they want to keep girard.

My reasoning is, what the hell does COL want with Liljgren, Robertson, or a late 1st?

I absolutely can see them moving Girard, but it won't be for that. It'll almost certainly be in a deal to try and find a 2nd line C.

With how amazing this draft is the 6th pick will almost guaranteed be better than both of them easily. And another late first is good

Matthews can't agree to an extension until after July 1st and that doesn't effect his trade value as the new team is the team signing him to an extension. Also Arizona is no where close to competing, why would the not rather wait a year and try and sign him as a free agent.

Horvat is the perfect example of a player traded as a pure rental. Most teams will allow the interested parties to talk and negotiate with their upcoming UFA out of courtesy. Vancouver refused to let anyone talk to him or his agent. He was then traded at rental value, the NYI sat down and negotiated an 8 year deal after the trade was made

LOL - Girard is not a "defensive liability"
