Bedard is seen as an upcoming generational superstar.
That said- there really is no reasonable offer by NJ which would entice CHI to move him.
I doubt this offer would be considered reasonable by NJ- yet still probably not enough to pry him from CHI

Jersey would have to give up Nemec, Luke Hughes and Holtz to even get in the conversation for Bedard

Would you give up Jack Hughes for that return?

Why not throw all your eggs into one basket and try to acquire him... and honestly thats a hell of a haul for one player. Could you imagine bedard, hughes, and mercer on one line? A second line at that. After palat, hischier, and meier drain teams from crashing the net

Fun to look at that stuff here...but in reality neither GM would take that sort of risk.

On CHI side- here's a player they plan on building around...who sold a boatload of season tickets as soon as CHI won the lottery. On the NJ side- that's an awful lot of talent to part with (and I'm guessing if CHI even comes to the table they'd want more)...yet there is an infinite list of things that can go wrong with him or his development.

Hawks decline. That offer is classic quantity over quality.

A hell of a hail for a generational talent is:
1. A struggling goalie
2. A top 6 RFA
3. An ahler
4. A struggling but good forward prospect
5. A struggling depth forward
6. Two more depth prospects that have low ceilings

Interesting, if that’s the case I think someone should make a similar package for McDavid

There is no chance Chicago trades that pick. While those are decent pieces, none are franchise cornerstones.

Maybe if we had 2nd overall pick plus an extra Matty Beniers or Jake Sanderson sitting around we could come up the pieces. But a sum-of-the-parts deal won’t fly.

(But a Bedard, Hughes, Mercer line would be fun)

A Bedard offer includes both Hughes bros.

It'll never happen.

This would actually go a long way to appease the new CHI season ticket holders....and the certainty of adding an underpaid star- signed very long term- and his brother...who looks to be an absolute stud to anchor any D would be a relatively easy decision for CHI.

BUT

NJ would NEVER take this risk.

We’re not coming close in a Bedard trade without Jack Hughes in the conversation. It’s not a good idea.

Also the McLeod trade is just silly.

Any hughes is better than bedard.. Jack has 7 years left on team friendly deal vs 3 years at 950,000 for a player that isnt top 15 in the league... jack hughes is top 3
