Created by: IslesTime
Team: 2023-24 New York Islanders
Initial Creation Date: May 2, 2023
Published: May 20, 2023
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Bite the bullet and get younger/faster. Buyout Baily and Clutter cuz there is no market for either. Martin can come in occasionally when we need more physicality. Durzi brings another option on PP while improving defensive play under more structured system..

I’d probably have Wahlstrom on the off wing I’d also have a different winger than Holmstrom on the 3rd line I just believe he has minimal offensive impact

Kings will want more than that for Durzi

I’m not saying he doesn’t have high value, but is there a world where two seconds gets it done? Like with Devon Toews…

Maybe. But if I'm Blake I'm pushing other teams for a late 1st instead of 2 mid round 2nds. A team like St. Louis that has 3 picks in the 1st round might be likely to pay that price.

LA doesn't need project prospects with where they are at. Looking more for quality instead of quantity at this point in their rebuild (meaning they've come out of the rebuild and need players that are more likely to help sooner in their compete window. 2nd rounders aren't likely to be that.)

As I'm thinking more on it, if we're looking at purely Islanders trade examples (since you brought up Toews), I think the Kings would be making an effort to use the Romanov trade as a baseline.

Durzi + 2023 3rd
For
2023 1st

Or something similar.

Exactly my thoughts.
