They are right up against the cap and this team on paper is a bottom 12 team in the league. So you are correct, but their backs are up against the walls to try and improve. They need to unload cap to fix the weaknesses of the team. It's going to be very hard to do.

Sure it isn't ideal, but people keep making proposals where the Canucks PAY to trade good players which is not happening. With a healthy Demko the whole year, the Canucks very well could have made a wildcard spot in the Pacific last year

Your short a player, it's standard to have a 23 man roster. Even at league minimum that puts you over.

They can nickel and dime with the signings to account for right $100k. It's close enough to be manageable.

Its doable with the Canucks management. I remember at the beginning of the year, the Canucks somehow managed to have exactly $0 in cap space

Playoffs is very wishful thinking based on their roster. It was very wishful thinking last year also. I really thought they should have sold last summer/the deadline before. But they didn't. Canucks are in a very bad position. They are way too mid for their own good.

Canucks are not close to a contender, but are pretty close to a playoff team. Not as bad of a position as everybody makes them out to be. Most of their mid contracts end quite soon...

Quite a few teams go 22 some even 21 bso no it really isn't. TB for one was at 22 from when Cirelli came off LTIR the first week in December until they dumped Namestnikov s salary and opened up enough at the tdl

Need to upgrade at 3 and 4C and get 1-2 top 4 D if they wanna contend. How you gonna do that with no money. Team has a surplus of wingers who don’t fit and only 1 prospect of note
