I don't think Pittsburgh should trade Pickering, but I'll take him

Way overpay for Hellebuyck.
Bishop and Kuemper would be good comps. Neither went for more than a single good prospect or 1st round pick. So, a fair trade would be:
2024 1st + DeSmith + 4th for Hellebuyck and retention.

Buffalo has pick 13 upl and ostlund on the table. Just a simple deal may be fair the amount of teams that could use him drives up the price. If they can't contend with that offer just but out lol.

I don’t think Kumper has ever won, nor been nominated for the vezina.

Bishop was nominated once but had never won a vezina trophy when he was traded.

Helle would be the best and most proven goalie traded since Ryan Miller or Patrick Roy. The bidding war for his services as the final piece for a cup win amongst the Pens, Sabres, Devils, Oilers, Kings, Sens, wings will return a 1st plus a blue chip prospect. At a minimum. We can retain and take back a goalie contract as a dump further increasing the return if needed.

No to the CBj and Arizona deals. Why give up assets to get rid of Granlund when you can just buy him out and save the assets?
And take out Pickering or the 1st for Helly.

Did Buffalo offer those picks? No? You're just speculating?

If Buffalo offered 13 overall and an A prospect, they can have him. That is a massive overpay for a guy with one year left.

If you think Win is going to get 13 overall and an A prospect, there is a bridge in Alaska I'd like to sell you.

Buffalo agms also have offers basically the same so yeah too bad for Pittsburgh who will not be getting Hellebuyck 😁

Mark this down. I guarantee Hellebuyck won't return a 1st, A+ prospect, and more.

Any team that would pay that needs to fire their GM IMMEDIATELY

We'll see him go for more than this here. We'll definitely see that. 😆

Noted and marked down. Let’s revisit if he’s traded. I don’t think I suggested an “A+” prospect but for clarity what/who do you consider to be an A+ prospect.

To me a blue Chip prospect would be one of the top 3-5 in a teams prospect pool. Someone likely drafted in the top 2 rounds.

Oh ok. That makes a little more sense (I was thinking a guy taken like top 10). I still think that's high but it is much more in the realm of possibility. I could see an low 1st and a guy drafted in the high 2nds if a team felt there was a lot of competition and wanted to really overpay.

Glad we could clarify.

Also, I hope you're having fun with this, I am. It's all in good humor. Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe Ron Hextall is hired by Tor and he trades Marner and Matthews for Granlund and Oloffson before trading 3 1sts for Hellebuyck. smile

Anyway, I am very interested to see what Hellebuyck and Saros go for when they're traded and where they go.
