I look at them like the Western conference version of the Capitals. A team that saw they weren't going to make the playoffs, so they traded off pending UFA's for picks and prospects, and played out the season and looked forward to the following year.

Perhaps. I think they can go either way. Unlike Washington, they don't have a franchise player, so there'll be no push for "one last hurrah".

The franchise player is a good point, but they also have long term contracts of key players, and recent extensions for guys like Kyrou, and Thomas that suggests to me they aren't interested in blowing it up per se, but of course I could be wrong.
