Makes no sense for the Kraken to make this trade. Could probably get Dunn for cheaper considering this is his first breakout season and he cooled off in playoffs. And the lines are pretty bad in this.

We get Depth and dont really need Mccann we played better without him in playoffs , Dunn is a stud you will laugh at this comment next season , Mccann doesn't fit long term with the Kraken makes sense to Buy low and sell high Also our prospects are studs and will make line up NeXT 2 years Your starting to sound like a habs fan

I agree Dunn is a stud but I’m saying you could probably get him for a bit cheaper because of the cool off and it being his first season. McCann is arguably one of ur best players and is on a pretty cheap deal who he’s had a bad playoffs but definitely helped get you into the post season makes absolutely no sense to trade him gourde would make more sense in every way, sure he had a good post season but you seem to be very confident in your prospects so make room for them and sell high in gourde. Lines are still bad.

You also sign Berniers to a bridge deal you wouldn’t need to pay him all 8mil

I'm just curious, what makes you think McCann doesn't fit with the team long term? He's the franchise's leading scorer, in his prime, and signed to a good contract for the next four seasons. All this for a team whose contention window is just opening. To me he's a perfect fit both now and in the future. I'd much rather have him on the wing than Lind, for example.

Other minor corrections I'd make: extend Beniers for 8 years and Dunn for 6-8 at a slightly lower AAV. Borgen almost assuredly makes more on his next deal.

Lind has had a Crazy post season and makes the team Mccann is a winger and We already have Sprong , Ebs , schwartz , Bjork , Burak So many top 6 wingers we also have Wright and Matty B

Sure, the Kraken have a lot of winger options at the moment, but not all those guys will be around forever. Eberle's contract runs out after next season and Schwartz has struggled with injuries and is on the wrong side of 30. I'd rather keep McCann because he'll be a meaningful contributor for many years to come and $5M for what he brings is a bargain. Plus, having a lot of good depth is never a bad thing.

True but we have to move a winger this year coming up

Not necessarily. Wright and Kartye might need more time in the AHL to develop. If one or both are ready the Kraken can figure it out then. Personally I feel like McCann is the last winger that should be moved; if anyone gets traded this offseason I think Sprong might be the one who departs. He had a great season but got scratched a few times and is due a decent raise, so the team might decide to sell high on him. We'll see how it all plays out.

True. There is a decent chance he gets an exception to be eligible to play in the AHL though. If he's in the NHL next season I think another center like Wennberg is who would get moved.
