It’s an even trade. Marner makes $11m a year and Raymond is a budding star. Toronto would pull the trigger on this in a heartbeat.

Oh it is light, I know number 9 would have to be in a trade. I also realize it's insane the idea of these two teams trading players of any significant magnitude. No stopping the crazy train, so why not hop on and have some fun. Also, DATS > MM2 all day every day.

Sure, no one said he wasn’t. It’s so funny the DET fans running in to make these claims. The fact of the matter is they are very similar(not exactly the same so DET can compute). But the package to acquire either one is going to be double what’s above. Which most people would understand. MM is the best play maker outside of McD and Drais(2 guys who are certainly above Datsyuk no question). Datsyuk was the best or maybe 2nd in his time. Let me simp this up some more. If Datsyuk was worth four 1sts and a 2nd, MM would be worth four 1sts and 4th.

LOL wow man take it down a notch. Clearly this was meant as a way to have conversation. It has been stated multiple times not to be taken seriously, and I acknowledged that the offer was light. The purpose was in response to Nylander for Raymond + 9. Everyone tiptoes around the actual cost because no one knows. It doesn't happen (outside of the eclipse moments).

The Dats>MM comment is obviously a DETROIT PRIDE thing, just as I am sure every team has that player they will cling to. In reality, Marner is having a career in a similar fashion (albeit less highlights), the results are there. The comment was purely in the same tone as the ACGM itself. The internet has a crazy way of not reflecting actual conversations.

Both a great players. However Datsyuk made abdelkader a good player and got him a big contract. His last 5+ years he had no one but zetterberg and they were split up most of the time. MM has 1 or two superstars on his line at all times. That said it's tough to fully compare. Both are or were top notch offensive and defensive players.
