Honest question: With as good as Bouchard has been do you really think he will only ask for $4M on his deal? I don’t see every Oilers game obviously and I know he is still young but that just seems super cheap from the outside looking in fan.

Honestly yes I think that is all he will get. A great comparable is Dobson for the Islanders, they were both drafted in the same spot and have had similar career trajectories.

Bouch is a very inconsistent player. He has great skills but makes silly plays with the puck that when they aren't working it doesn't look great, when they do work he looks amazing.
He is never going to be a number one d-man (or I can't see it). I think the Oilers have leverage here because he wasn't putting up near as good numbers until he was on the powerplay.
