KM plays the 7th D-man spot. 10mins a night. If teams start taking liberties like they always do. Then he plays 15mins a night. And 5 of those 15 are sitting in the box after beating somebody's face in.

If you don’t want your affordable backup goalie why would the isles?

MacDermid certainly brings the old-school roughness factor that can be helpful at various points throughout the season. He can be a pest and grind, but he's not growing beyond his current role.

To allow my armchair-GM roster to have enough cap space! I get it, though, but thought I'd throw it out there for teams that have a decent stash of picks. Avs don't

Detroit wouldn’t need him to grow beyond his current role. They are lacking his current role on the team and it’s painfully obvious. Night in and night out the other teams took liberties against the wings top players knowing that the worst that might happen to them is Adam Erne drops the mitts. So scary.

I guarantee those two Ottawa games would have been a little different if KM was on the blue line.

Brady Tkachuk taunting the wings bench “who wants it”…yea he wouldn’t be doing that to KMs face.

You must have forgotten those two Ottawa games and how they pushed Detroit around at will and there was nobody willing to push back and stick up for each other…

Too many guys with too much term. Don't necessarily hate the signings, but you've built a cap crunch heading into 24-25 for Landy and Toews.

Yeah, 2024-25 would be a problem if Landy is back, but the roster would be at about $60M the next season. Sammy's value might be higher then with one year less of his $5M for a team to pick up. I really wish now that we hadn't given Manson so much. That's going to hurt us.

Mansons value is good, just bad year health wise. The issue is the van reimsdyk, Donato, haula, fast, and erod deals, you don't need all of them and van riemsdyk is slow, a winger, and a super soft noodle of a 6"4 nhl player

Fair point that the Avs "don't need all of them." And I'm stealing the line: "super soft noodle of a player."
