And LOL on the Liljegren trade Detroit isn't potentially giving up a high 1st round pick for Liljegren.

Although, if Matthews didn't want to resign with Toronto and he was willing to extend long term in Nashville, I wouldn't mind paying for him. Or we could snag him as a free agent, which is why I wouldn't overpay and I don't see Toronto really "winning" a Matthews trade.

I'd throw the 15 OA pick and Svechkov on the table, which is the equivalent of two firsts. If Toronto says no, we wait until FA (which is what I'd probably just do anyway)

All of this is speculation anyway. we'll see.
