You’ll have to give MTL a lot more than that to eat an 8M$ salary AND help a division rival.

I wish MTL was in the charity business, but for the leafs, they're not doing any favors. They need a 1st rd to take on the Murray disaster

You're thinking of the AAV, Murray is owed 8 mil next season in salary. Ottawa is paying 25%, but its not 4 mil.

Montreal doesn't need or really have room for a goalie, it would cost Toronto a significant amount to move Murray to Montreal.
