You're not getting 2 1sts for JT. You'd likely have to retain 50% and take Jeff Carter's contract in return to get 2 1sts

The usual non sensical trade, With retention in effect you've made Granlund a 8m player on the Leafs for two years.

Yes, but added a young center and two firsts. Leafs need to restock draft picks. Treliving, if he is the new GM, is a good drafter in the 1st round so the Leafs should try to add a couple if they're able to.

JT is still a PPG game. He's worth 8 million.

Granlund at 2C??? Hallander at 3C?, when he couldn't secure a job with the Pens in the past two years.

Nylander can elevate Granlund. As for Hallander, either him or Holmberg are cheaper options than a guy like Kampf will be, or others available via FA. But that spot should be flexible. That's why getting a veteran like Namestnikov is key because he can play center.
