Wouldn't make much of a difference for me. I'm just against the idea of paying the equivalent of two 1st+ for a player we can maybe have for free in a year. I'm on board for paying something to get him early, but not at the price of Kidney, Mesar (who's a late 1st) + another late 1st / early second. For me, the bus stops at Dvorak, Kidney and FLA's 1st. That's as high as I'm willing to go. My personal package would be Dvorak/Hoffman/Armia + Kapanen + Mysak + CGY's 2024 1st (Top-10 protected).

It is when you consider he might sign as a UFA. Habs are probably the team less likely to pay a good price for Dubois. Not saying WPG has to take that deal, but if that's what they're asking, I'm playing the odds of getting him as a free agent.
