If the Flames are trading Lindholm they will just retain 50% and you can replace Goligoski with something actually enticing

Calgary fans believe he's worth more. So they will not be happy with this proposal. As much Minnesota needs C, we're in cap hell, where's the money. Wasn't one of the reasons fiala was moved was because it was reported Minnesota had plans to offer a monster extension to kaprizov as soon he has 1 year left? Doubt we will see anything like a massive move before

Rossi and a 1st for an expiring player is pretty good

I think this is definitely more about how the Wild could possibly re-sign Lindholm with that last year of cap hell. Zucc, Foligno, Flower, Hartman all expiring and the cap going up more significantly than this season makes things interesting, perhaps it is doable. Lindholm will want 9M+ though.

Yep, unless we get a good sign-and-trade this doesn't happen

It's decent but not probably beat.

If they do a sign and trade…and retain 50%…that means Calgary will retain 50% of the extension as well.

Sign and trade…or retention…wouldn’t be both.

A sign and trade can't happen if it's a 2023 1st being traded. Lindholm can't sign a new contract until the new league year.

Lindholm for Rossi + 2023 1st near the draft, I'm fine with. The 850k retention doesn't make much sense for CGY, I'd guess it's either $2m+ retention or no retention. I don't see why Goli waives his NMC for CGY. There is also a handshake deal with Lindholm to re-sign with MN when the new league year starts, or the trade is a nothing burger.

I'd go with Foligno and Addison traded for futures to recoup some of the cost of Lindholm and make the cap work. I think MN is stuck with Goli.

I’m for just about anything that shoves Zuccarello out the door, so…
